Bright Lights Remixed

Call for Submissions

An exhibition celebrating young people from Sunderland’s creativity!

Having evolved over the last 26 years, Bright Lights Youth Art Exhibition, has been a platform showcasing young artists aged 11-19 at Arts Centre Washington and over the last few years has been curated by Celebrate Different Collective.

This year we are bringing Bright Lights Remixed to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens and we would love to invite you to submit your artwork. This exhibition will showcase previous entries to the exhibition alongside new works from young artists.

Bright Lights Remixed is open to artists that have had work exhibited previously in Bright Lights or the Youth Arts Exhibition at Arts Centre Washington. We would encourage past participants to submit artwork previously shown in the exhibition or we will accept submissions of artwork produced since.

Key Dates

Please complete the form below with the details of your artwork and submit it before Friday 22 July 2022.

Celebrate Different Collective will then select works to be included in the exhibition.

Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that all submissions will be selected for display.

If your artwork is selected you will be notified by Wednesday 17 August.

Artwork must be dropped off at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens on Saturday 27 August 1pm-3.30pm or Wednesday 31st August 2pm-6.30pm. Any artwork dropped off outside these dates unless agreed prior, will not be included in the exhibition.

Bright Lights Remixed will open on Saturday 17 September at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, until Saturday 29 October.

If you have any questions please contact Jennie Lambert at [email protected].
