Artist Talk with Jhanee Wilkins

Join artist Jhanee Wilkins, photography and art historian, curator, writer and Associate Head of School (Arts) at University of Sunderland Dr Carol McKay and Curator of Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art Jonathan Weston for an in-conversation exploring Wilkins practice, time studying MA Photography at University of Sunderland and her exhibition ‘Black Britain’ which is on display within Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art Collection Space.

The talk will be followed by an exhibition preview for our new exhibitions – Mark Pinder: Macromancy and Jhanee Wilkins: Black Britain between 6-8pm. 

Jhanee Wilkins is an artist-photographer and filmmaker born and living in the West Midlands. Wilkins works digitally, using still and moving images, with audio and text to explore political and often autobiographical subjects that relate to feminism, immigration, racism and identity.
