Join us at Arts Centre Washington this Summer for of free arts activities for children aged 8+ .
Creative writing, printing, animation, comedy and more for ages 8+, Tuesdays 1.30 – 3.30pm.
Tuesday 27th July – Stand Up Comedy Workshop with Felt Nowt Comedy Club
Come and learn how to write and tell jokes and stories with a top stand up comedian. A two hour session that will boost confidence and be loads of fun!
Tuesday 3rd August – Create your own Animation
Make your own short films using stop motion techniques with artist Sheryl Jenkins
Tuesday 10th August – Learn how to Tie Dye Workshop
Customise your own garment and make your own groovy psychedelic design for summer. Learn how to use different tie dye patterns and methods that look amazing.
Hand dye your garment from beginning to end, dyeing, fixing and rinsing so that you can take your finished items away with you ready to wear later that day.
Bring your own garment with you so that you can choose the style, size and fit. Suitable garments: T-Shirts, sweaters, hoodies, shorts, leggings, vests with at least 60% cotton content. PLEASE WEAR OLD CLOTHES AS DYES ARE PERMANENT AND CAN BE MESSY.

Tuesday 24th August – Creative Writing and Poetry Workshop
Ages 8 – 11
What would happen if a vampire lost his teeth? Do Fairies call ‘fairy cakes’ by their full name? Or do they just call them cakes? Join poet Rowan McCabe for a super fun workshop where we’ll play some silly games and write our very own poems about mythical creatures.
