Botanical Drawing Classes with Jane Wolfenden

10.30am – 3.30pm 

Enjoy a full day class with WEA tutor Jane Wolfenden to explore line, tone and composition in botanical drawing, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s work. All materials will be provided.

Saturday 30 March         

Exploring a modern twist on Leonardo’s technique, learn to use a limited palette of artists’ coloured pencils to create studies of twigs and foliage, involving observation of detail and shading. Suitable for all levels of experience, the workshop will offer full tuition and lots of encouragement.

Saturday 27 April            

Use red and brown coloured pencils with white highlights to create a composition of spring flowers inspired by Leonardo’s red chalk drawings. The emphasis is on realism, learning new techniques, and enjoying drawing in a relaxed atmosphere. Suitable for all levels of experience.
