Exploring Digital Technologies for Creatives

For creative businesses, organisations and individual creative practitioners, current circumstances mean that online presence has become even more important, as a way of engaging with audiences and partners, selling and showing people what we do.
Digital Catapult North East Tees Valley in partnership with Sunderland Culture, are offering Sunderland-based arts, culture and heritage creatives the opportunity to attend a programme of fully funded sessions that cover different areas of working with digital, including setting up a website and to engaging on social media.
Monday 6 July, 2pm: Getting to know you and networking
During this session attendees will have the unique opportunity of getting to know others working within the same sector. The facilitators of this session will help attendees look at the challenges and opportunities that technology can present.
Wednesday 8 July, 10.30am: Social Media
During this session attendees will learn and understand the value of using social media to promote themselves and to better engage with their audience. They will hear from a marketing professional about how to create their own social media strategy, choosing the right social media platforms, how to use social media as a tool to build your brand personality, the basics of social media measurement and top tricks and tips for different platforms.
Friday 10 July, 10.30am: Website
In this session attendees can expect to hear about different website building platforms, how they work, some of the design elements of website building i.e. visuals and content., how social media may feed into a website and the potential costs of development. The session will also touch on questions to ask web designer/developer.

Due to our funding conditions, these workshops are only available to individual creative practitioners who live, work or study in Sunderland or creative/ heritage organisations and creative businesses who are based in Sunderland.
These workshops are offered as part of the Unlock the City programme which supports the development of artists and creative businesses in Sunderland.
