Family Takeaway pack: Paint the Town in Sound

Sunderland Culture’s first family takeaway pack of the year is here and ready to download! It’s full of artist designed activities, ideas and some incredible artworks to help you explore art, music, words and sound at home.

For this family takeaway pack, we’ve  taken inspiration from Sunderland Culture’s online exhibition ‘Paint the Town in Sound’.

Paint the Town in Sound is an exhibition of artworks, brought together by Sunderland Culture and Mercury Prize nominated Sunderland Band Field Music and inspired by Sunderland’s independent music scene. It explores the links between music and art through fashion, album covers, videos, photographs and paintings. You can explore the exhibition here.

This takeaway pack will get families thinking about the kind of music they like to listen to and how music can inspire us all to be creative or express ourselves. Whether you’re making art while listening to music, creating your own sounds or stories, or dressing like your favourite musicians, we think music and art are a match made in heaven and this pack brings it all to life.
