Gathering light: Full Moon in Virgo Lunar Circle

Tuesday 7 March, 6:45pm – 8:15pm
£15 per person

As our celestial Grandmother Moon exerts her pull on the tides, her light energies affect our own bodies too, as we are comprised mostly of water. In astrology, the Moon is designated with governance over the emotions, the mind and the maternal mother aspect. Vedic, Hindu astrology asserts that, as the light of the Moon grows in her power and fullness, our own energy and personal power increases. As follows, the period of the new moon is like the dark fertile creative womb where plans are hatched and new ideas can flourish, and the full moon period is one of realisation, actualisation and preparing to return to the dark, restful centre.

Living in tune with the cycles of the Moon is like knowing when to plant crops and when to reap the harvest. It is empowering, working with and not against our own natural ebbs and flows of energy. Join moon circle leader Shaney Barton on Tuesday 7 March for our Full Moon in Virgo Lunar Circle as part of the Gathering light: a Bronze Age golden sun learning programme here at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens.

Working with the earthy and practical energies of the Virgo full moon, we will come together to ground ourselves in meditation and release all that no longer serves us. The evening will consist of:

  • Guided meditation
  • Exploration of Virgoan influence
  • Energetic grounding to connect with the element of Earth
  • Connecting deeply with the light and energies of Grandmother Moon
  • Energetic releasing ritual
  • Personal energetic protection
  • Reflective journaling
  • Sky watch
  • Oracle card reading

Joining together in the Winter Gardens, this Full Moon Circle will begin at 6:45pm and conclude at 8:15pm.

Tickets are £15 per person with limited numbers. Available to book using the “Book Now” button or in-person at the Museum Shop.

Please bring something to sit on and a blanket for comfort (chairs and cushions are also provided).

Bring a favourite crystal with you if you have one and/or something that represents the element of Earth for you

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle into the space. Allow for city centre rush hour traffic. Doors will be sealed after 7pm so as not to disturb meditation.
