Winner, Glass Society Prize, 2023
Hassina Khan completed her MA in Glass at the University of Sunderland in 2022 and returned to work with us in 2023, taking part in a residency kindly funded by the Glass Society. Hassina uses glass to express English words written in Urdu text, mimicking her experience as a bi-racial, English-Pakistani person. An example of Hassina’s new work has been acquired by National Glass Centre adding to the international remit of our collection.

Update to visitors
As you may be aware, National Glass Centre visitor centre has recently been closed due to storm damage to the riverside front of the building.
However, we’re delighted to say that we are now open!
Things will be a little bit different for a while as we continue to address the storm damage to the riverside front of the building. But our team has worked hard to make changes so that we can offer visitors a packed programme of exhibitions, events, activities and shopping.
