The Spaghetti Factory presents the HOT NEW IT, featuring contemporary talent from Sunderland alongside artwork from Sunderland Museum’s permanent collection.
The Spaghetti Factory presents the HOT NEW IT, a series of exhibitions at Sunderland Museum featuring contemporary talent from Sunderland.
The second in the series of exhibitions features four local artists from Sunderland: Kevin Petrie, Brenda Watson, Katie Watson and Paddy Killer.
This exhibition responds to Received Wisdom – the first exhibition in a three-year partnership with the acclaimed Arts Council Collection after Sunderland was chosen as one of just three places nationwide to be part of the Collection’s National Partnership Programme.
The Spaghetti Factory is Eve Cromwell and Jenny Mc Namara – who started a North East- based curatorial project which began as a space to allow experimentation in a non-formal setting. The project has since expanded to include events, workshops and the guest curation of regional galleries and pop-up spaces.
Hot New It is supported through the Unlock strand of Sunderland Culture’s Great Place programme, which seeks to develop skills in the creative sector and open more opportunities for emerging creative professionals in the city. The Great Place programme is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England, with additional support from the Coastal Communities Fund.
