International Women’s Day: Celebrate with the Rebel Women of Sunderland

Celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 with Sunderland Culture and University of Sunderland, as we unveil the latest additions to the Rebel Women of Sunderland collection- Ida B Wells, Eileen O’Shaugnessy and Katherine Backhouse- alongside the original Rebel Women portraits.

Come along for a range of Rebel Women activities including:

• FREE family-friendly Rebel Kids events where the mini people in your life can tell us about their female icons and make placards, badges and sashes!
• Musicians Paige Temperley and Holly Rees play some songs from We Make Culture’s Songs of the Streets project, celebrating Sunderland icons from the East End
• Take part in a Rebel Women themed creative-writing workshop

And treat yourself to a coffee and cake from the beautiful new Pop Recs venue.

Just turn up and feel free to drop in anytime between 1pm and 3pm.
