From George Hinchliffe’s Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

Known by her stage name ‘Ra’ – Laura Currie is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Dumfries.

Described as “a gentle torrent of talent”, Ra has established a reputation as a convincing and compelling performer since the release of her debut EP ‘Strange Love’ in 2019 (which was written, performed, produced, recorded, mixed and designed by Ra herself).

Her eclectic mix of youtube covers have garnered an active online following, and were released as an album in early 2021. In addition to her solo career, Ra has collaborated with Billboard-charting electronic artist ALEX on a number of successful singles. She is also a deputy for the internationally-acclaimed Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, having performed with them on tours of China and France, in a live performance on BBC Radio 3, and in their online ‘Ukulele World Service’ pay-per-view concerts. Laura also produced and edited their ‘Ukulele Lockdown’ YouTube series in 2020.
