Orlando Weeks, former Maccabees frontman, hits the stage for an atmospheric performance showcasing his second solo album Hop Up.
Following his debut solo album, A Quickening – cataloguing the emotions and expectations that accompany imminent parenthood, Hop Up celebrates the now with buoyant pleasure. Combining spacious simplicity with the intriguing off-kilter touches of leftfield pop, Weeks’ latest record feels like a fitting addition to his evermore increasingly, eclectic discography taking us through life’s circuitous stages.
This event is part of The Fire Station opening season – Firestarters. Firestarters is commissioned by Sunderland Music Arts and Culture Trust and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
