Refuge (a place of Safety) is a new play by Tom Casling. The play is set around the War Memorial of Tommy in Seaham in County Durham and draws upon this imagery to enhance the story. The play is set during the earlier days of the Pandemic and brings together three disparate unrelated people: Tommy – an old war veteran- Sky a survivor of domestic violence and Steve a homeless young man. Through their interactions we discover that they have much more in common than they originally believed.
