Right Track Music Masterclasses

On Friday 24th February Sunderland Music Hub in partnership with the Arts Centre Washington will be hosting a series of free ‘music masterclasses’ as part of the Bright Lights: Youth Arts Festival.

The music masterclasses will be led by professional musicians and educators, and are designed to inspire young musicians as well as to develop their musicianship.

Each masterclass will include an opportunity to: learn first-hand about the professional musician’s musical journey; develop their technique and improve their musicianship; ask questions about all things music!

The Music Masterclasses available to take part in are:

Electric Guitar led by David Smith
Professional musician and educator; member of DENNIS band; Managing Director of Sapien Records Ltd

Bass Guitar led by Neil Harland
Professional musician and educator; touring musician; session musician recording for artists such as Revolver and many more; Bio – neilharlandbass.com

Music Theory 101 led by Laura Taylor (theory to improve your songwriting/composing)
Singing Strategy Lead for Sunderland; Music Lead for Sunderland Youth Choir and youth music project Right Track

Beat Production led by Tony Brown
Professional music producer, musician and educator currently signed to Universal Music Group; Music Lead for youth music project Right Track; Tony Brown Producer & Songwriter

These workshops are aimed at aspiring young musicians aged 13-18 years.

Spaces are limited to 8 participants to enable a rich learning experience for those that take part.

Each masterclass will run twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. This is to allow participants to attend more than one masterclass.
