Rock and Coal: Retro Album Covers

Washington F Pit Museum
Tuesday 23 July & Thursday 25 July/ 1pm – 3pm (drop in)

Join us as we step back in time to celebrate famous musicians, bands and their records from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, including those pressed at the RCA records factory in Washington. Iconic artists on the RCA label included the one and only Elvis Presley.

Design your own retro album covers in this creative session with artist Georgie Donkin and listen to live music from Dave Murray, Mackem Folk Singer and number one Elvis fan. Imagine what the miners wore when they stepped out for a night of dancing, as you dress up in fun fashions from the period.

This event is part of the Washington 60 celebrations.
