Skills and Techniques

Exhibition

Collections Gallery

Showing until Autumn 2019

Artists and designers often develop and master specific skills and techniques. This exhibition presents the work of world-leading practitioners specialising in a range of glass and ceramic techniques. Each approach is represented by works of art created in recent years, and approximately one hundred years ago, to show the changes in style that occur over time.

The exhibition consists of works from the National Glass Centre’s collection and loans from the Victoria and Albert Museum
(V&A). The V&A have loaned these works to support DesignLab Nation, a project which aims to inspire the next generation of designers and expand the reach of the V&A’s collections.

DesignLab Nation is supported by Art Fund,
The Foyle Foundation and other generous donors.
