Story Explorers: The Jar of Happiness
Join us as we read The Jar of Happiness by Ailsa Burrows – the story of Meg and her recipe for happiness. Collecting all the necessary ingredients in a jar, Meg uses her recipe to cheer up her friends and family when they’re feeling low. But what happens when her special jar mysteriously disappears?
Perfect for pre-school children and supporting Children’s Mental Health Week from 1 – 7 February 2021, this storytelling, exploring and music session will help you discover simple ways for your family and carers to share happiness and build resilience.
You can then create your very own “Jar of Happiness”, and learn all the words to the songs from the video, with this activity resource: The Jar of Happiness
Story Explorers is a partnership project from Sunderland Music Hub, Sunderland Culture and Sunderland Libraries Services. It brings together storytelling and singalongs with some of the wonderful collections at Sunderland Libraries Services and Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens.
