A TALE OF A FEW CITIES
A Tale of A Few Cities is an ambitious project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Dickens’ death led by Kent poet Barry Fentiman-Hall, which paired over fifty writers and artists from the north-east and south-east of England.
The writers wrote pieces inspired by the Dickens line that It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”, which were then shared anonymously with artists who interpreted the poems and stories in an incredibly diverse variety of forms.
The work by north-east artists is being displayed in Arts Centre Washington, and on the opening night of September 7th, many of the north-east poets and writers will be performing their work against a backdrop of a digital display of the artwork that accompanied it.
