Sunderland Shorts Film Festival shares some of the best of the next generation of filmmaking talent with a night of Young, Emerging and Student Screenings – hosted by local BBC Radio favourite Emma Millen.

Championing new talent is a key aim of this festival so Sunderland Shorts are delighted to welcome Young, Emerging & Student filmmakers to showcase their work up on the big screen at The Fire Station, including local entries from Northumbria, Newcastle and Sunderland Universities across two blocks of short film screenings.

Since 2015 Sunderland Shorts has been dedicated to providing unmissable film experiences for film fans and filmmakers alike, and this year they will be screening at various venues across the city. For this eighth edition of the Festival, Sunderland Shorts are sharing the biggest selection of works yet with over 160 short films and music videos from across the country and around the World, as well as showcasing films made right here in the North East.

All screenings will be followed by a Q&A, in which filmmakers can discuss their work and answer questions from the audience.

Tickets give you access to both blocks of screenings on 17 October, at The Fire Station.
