Think Like Leonardo: Unleash Creativity Through STEAM

Saturday 9 March 2019  10am – 1pm
Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
£20 per place (£10 for student teachers)

During British Science Festival 2019, join us to celebrate the genius of Leonardo da Vinci and discover how his drawings helped him to explore the worlds of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Explore the artist’s drawings during an exclusive gallery tour and find out about his unique way of seeing and thinking about the world. Try new learning resources developed specially for the exhibition and learn from educators and experts who champion STEAM in the curriculum by trying different practical approaches to unleash your own (and your pupils’) creativity. The event will be facilitated by Susan Coles, Art Educator and Artist, with speakers and workshop leaders including Suzy O’ Hara (Little Inventors), Neil Harrison (Big Bang Science Parties), Paul Carney, Arts Educator and Sheila Graber, Animator. There will also be an opportunity to purchase Paul Carney’s new book Drawing for Science, Invention & Discovery: Even if You Can’t Draw and get a copy signed by the author.

Delicious drinks and snacks provided by Holmeside Café will be served during the event.  Numbers are limited. To book your place contact the Public Engagement & Learning Team on 0191 5612323 or e-mail [email protected].
