Tony Erskine – A Retrospective

14 June – 6 July
Granary and Theatre Foyer exhibition

I have always lived in the North East of England and graduated from Newcastle College of Art in 1967 with a degree in graphic design.

In 1968 I was appointed graphic designer for Washington Development Corporation at a very exciting time in the Washington story. I was involved in a wide range of projects and campaigns to promote the New Town.

I then worked for Tyne and Wear County Council and finally Northumbria Police Authority.

In retirement I rekindled my interest in silkscreen printing and enjoy the flat colour which this process allows.

My paintings are mainly inspired by the beautiful Northumberland coast, where I also collect driftwood from which I make a variety of objects.
