Tuesday Museum Club: Beside the Seaside

The Tuesday Museum Club is Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens monthly session for home educated families with children aged 5 – 11 years old. It takes place on the first Tuesday of each month and is a fun way of learning about history, science and art through the Museum collections. Numbers are limited and places must be pre-booked. Families can come in from 9.45am.

Learn how seaside holidays began in the Victorian times. Find out what holidaymakers did, what they wore and what they ate on their holiday. Discover how Seaburn and Roker became popular holiday destinations, examine objects and photographs from the past and write your own postcard.
