Join us in celebrating the culture, creativity and imagination of our local Sunderland Communities!

Following the success of last year’s project, Sunderland Culture has brought together individual community groups from across Sunderland to work together on the second round of our creative project called Who Do You Want to Meet?

Join the Click Click Club, Sunderland Deaf Society, Grindon Watercolour Group, IMPACT North East and Young Asian Voices to explore their projects that they have been working on for the past eight weeks.

The ClickClick Club and Sunderland Deaf Society will be sharing a new project called ‘Deaf See Us‘, using portraiture and film to showcase deaf culture and experiences of older deaf people.

Grindon Watercolour Group have collaborated with Impact North East on a watercolour and creative writing project, producing a booklet sharing their personal experiences of positive methods to reduce anxiety.

Young Asian Voices worked with residents from Gentoo housing to share their different cultures and experiences of growing up in Sunderland.

You will be able to see a collection of portraits alongside an exhibition of watercolour and creative writing pieces, look at photographs taken as part of the project, and try out carrom board and henna painting! A film screening will also take place at 6pm and 7pm.
