When are you reopening?
Following the Government’s announcement that the reopening of cultural venues can begin from 4th July, we are working hard behind the scenes to ensure the safety of visitors and staff before opening our venues, which we think will be later in the summer.
Keep an eye out for further information here on our website and on our social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Do you have an online shop?
We don’t currently have an online shop, but it is something we’re investigating.
Can I book a bauble blowing or pumpkin-making session?
National Glass Centre is closed to staff and visitors at the moment, but we’re working hard to put measures in place to make sure our venue is as safe as possible when we reopen. We’re also looking very carefully at how we can deliver the same fantastic experiences, like bauble-blowing and pumpkin-making, in a safe way. Keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for announcements on our bauble-blowing sessions.
In the meantime you can book some of our adults courses for later in the year, such as stained glass making and flameworking (please note these are different to Hot Glass Studio Experiences).
Do you make bespoke items?
Our Hot Glass Studio glassmakers are incredibly talented artists , with years of glassmaking experience in industry and the art environment. But as we’re currently closed, and staff are on furlough, I’m afraid we can’t take any enquiries for commissions. Watch out for announcements about our reopening, and then contact Christine Keers, the Hot Glass Studio Manager, with your enquiry.
Are family workshops available to pre-book/book?
Our programming team are working hard and looking carefully at how we can deliver our much loved family workshops once we reopen.
We don’t currently have any activities available to book, however throughout lock down our team have been creating a whole host of wonderful free family resources designed to be enjoyed from the comfort of home.
