To mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens has been selected by the Royal Collection Trust to be one of 12 venues across the UK to host the exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci drawings. The exhibition will run from 1 February – 6 May 2019.
This is the largest exhibition of the artist’s work ever to be seen in the North East and is a unique opportunity for schools in Sunderland and the wider region to experience his art. An exciting schools programme is planned to help pupils explore Leonardo da Vinci’s fascination with science and art. Themes in the exhibition include anatomy, engineering, botany, cartography, portraiture and sculpture.
Due to anticipated demand, all school visits to the Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition must be pre-booked in the exclusive school slots.
Schools and other learning groups wishing to make a booking or special arrangements should contact our Public Engagement & Learning Team: 0191 561 2323 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
