Rainforest Explorers: The Basics
Key stages: EYFS, KS1, KS2
Subject: STEM, Geography
In an interactive 45 minute introduction the class will learn about the different layers of the rainforest, about some of the indigenous animals that live there and have the opportunity to handle seeds from the rainforest. The class will then set out on a teacher-led quest into the Winter Gardens to gather evidence for Lola the Lemur to help her prove the rainforest is worth saving!
Charges: £51 for a class of up to 35 pupils. Half price for classes of 15 pupils or less.

Rainforest Explorers: Art Explosion
Key stages: EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3
Subject: STEM, Art
Explore the amazing Winter Gardens on a sketching trail to draw rainforest leaves of different sizes, shapes and textures. Find drip tips, waxy, striped and holey leaves. Use these ideas to create large pastel drawings of leaves for a rainforest collage artwork. This session is 90 minutes long.
Charges: £75 for a class of up to 35 pupils. Half price for classes of 15 pupils or less.

Rainforest Explorers - Animal Adventure Tour
Key stages: EYFS, KS1, KS2
Subject: STEM, Self, Others and Wider World
After a short introduction on rainforest habitats your class will visit some of the museum’s rainforest creatures in the World’s Alive Gallery and learn about some of the different kinds of animals that live in the rainforest. This session is 60 minutes long.
This tour can be followed by teacher-led activities, e.g. the rainforest animal trail in the gallery or a rainforest explorers trail in the Winter Gardens.
Charge : £51 for a class of up to 30 pupils maximum. Half price for classes of 15 pupils or less.

Rainforest Explorers - Persuasive Writing
Key stages: KS2
Subject: STEM, Literacy
After a short introduction to rainforest habitats your class will set out on a fact finding mission in the Winter Gardens to see why the rainforest should be protected for Larry the Lemur and other animals and plants at risk. Inspired by what they have seen your class will then plan and write a letter to the Prime Minister using persuasive language to explain why the rainforests should be saved. This session is 105 minutes long.
Charges: £75 for a class of up to 35 pupils. Half price for classes of 15 pupils or less.
