From the brand-new, state-of-the-art auditorium to our vintage-inspired Engine Room bar & bistro – find out what’s under The Fire Station’s roof.
Auditorium

The Fire Station Auditorium is a versatile performance space which will see an exciting year-round programme of live music, theatre, dance and comedy in a spectacular new state-of-the-art 550 seated or 800 standing capacity space.
Designed by Flanagan Lawrence (Sage Gateshead, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama), the auditorium provides a fantastic opportunity to bring artists, shows and performances to the city that have not been able to visit Sunderland before.
Foyer Bar

The Foyer Bar is set inside the new Auditorium. It will be open to serve drinks on performance days in a smart but relaxed atmosphere with cracking views across to Sunderland Minister.
The Engine Room

With muted lighting, vintage vibes and nods to the building’s past, the Engine Room sits on the ground floor of The Fire Station and was part of the renovation in 2017. Offering great food and fantastic choice of drinks, the Engine Room has been a Sunderland staple for an afternoon treat or an evening out with friends and family since opening.
Parade Ground
The Parade Ground brings live music and performance to the glorious outdoors with a large multifunctional stage and festival atmosphere.
