  • On Your Arrival

    Upon arriving at The Fire Station, please first report to Stage Door at the rear of the building on Garden Place (at the back of Sunderland Empire, postcode: SR1 3HA). You can then drop your gear either at Stage Door or at the Load-In doors.

  • Parking

    There are parking facilities at Livingstone Road car park (SR1 3EY) or The Bridges car park (SR1 3PZ) close by. If we can accommodate your vehicle on site, we will, however due to construction work to the rear of the building this may not be guaranteed.

  • COVID-19 Security

    The Fire Station/Sunderland Culture are following government guidelines and therefore face masks must be worn by all staff and artists/touring company staff (unless exempt) throughout the venue to help reduce the risk of transmission.

    Working personnel (including artists) must sign in at stage door to confirm your understanding of the following COVID-19 security procedures:

    • All working personnel/artists are requested to take regular lateral flow tests (before travelling to the building or every 24 hours) with results available on request via NHS app
    • Ahead of arrival, all unvaccinated artists and touring company staff must send proof of a negative lateral flow within the last 24 hours
    • All artists/crew are to maintain social distancing (1m+) where possible throughout the venue
    • All artists/crew encouraged to use hand sanitiser stations and to wash/sanitise their hands regularly throughout their visit
    • We want our venue to remain open and to keep all artists and working personnel safe, so please think hands, face, space, fresh air

  • Dressing Rooms

    We have four dressing rooms and will allocate them to your party on arrival. Please advise us of your ideal dressing room allocation and we will make every attempt to fulfil your requests.

    We ask that you remain in the dressing rooms or go to The Engine Room pub next door if you are not on stage. Please do not wander around the new Auditorium as we may still have the construction team on site finishing jobs – many thanks!

  • Catering

    Please send a copy of your catering rider to our Programme and Events Coordinator, Annie Runham ([email protected]).

  • Access

    Please send across any access riders or advise us of any specific access needs to our Programme and Event Coordinator, Annie ([email protected]) in advance of arrival.

  • Comp Tickets

    We have allocated you 10 complimentary guest tickets for this performance.

    Please send the names of anyone you wish to use these tickets to our CRM & Ticket Office Manager, Corin ([email protected]) no later than four days before the date of the performance.

  • Press Comp Tickets

    All press requests must be authorised by The Fire Station. If you wish to make a request, please contact our Marketing & Sales Coordinator, Charlotte ([email protected]).

  • Invoicing

    If you have not yet sent an invoice for your fee, please do so to:

  • Photography and Mobile Phones

    For your info, these are our public guidelines around photography in the auditorium during a performance. Please let us know how relaxed you are about photography and our staff will monitor accordingly.

    In the interest of minimising the disturbance of the artists and other audience members, we do not allow photography (including mobile phones) or recording by any other means within The Fire Station Auditorium. Mobile phones must be switched off during any performances. The only exception to this is if audiences are expressly encouraged to take photographs by the artist during the performance.

    Also, as you are performing as part of our opening season, we have official photographers booked for all events. A consent form for your agreement to film and photograph your event will be shared with you in advance. If you could review and return this as soon as you’re able to, we would be very grateful.
