Join us on Thursday 21st November for the preview of The Skin We Live In: Portraits from the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art Collection and Harry Griffin: My name is Harry, these are my pictures and they are nice.

The Skin We Live In is the inaugural exhibition of artwork from Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art’s collection brought together in a group show exploring contemporary portraiture through photography, painting, sculpture, film, and printmaking.

My Name is Harry…is the first gallery exhibition of British photographer Harry Griffin on display across Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art Collection Space and Pop Recs Ltd. The exhibition comprises hundreds of photographs from Harry’s photographic archive providing a unique insight into Britain’s vibrant comedy circuit, family and friendships, moments of joy, celebration and boredom all shot through with wit, humour and candid moments of life on tour.

The preview will take place across two venues

Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art from 6pm – 7:30pm
Pop Recs Ltd (172-175 High St W, Sunniside, Sunderland SR1 1UP) from 7:30pm – 9pm

Feel free to come to one or both venues between the hours stated. Both exhibitions will be available to view on the evening (before the exhibitions open to the public) with welcome drinks at Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art and a pay bar at Pop Recs. Open to everyone, parking available on-site.

Join us at Pop Recs between 8-9pm for a film screening premiering an in conversation between Harry Griffin and Joe Lycett (Comedian, Presenter and Painter) filmed at Glee Club, Birmingham (duration 12 minutes) followed by a talk between Harry Griffin and Andy Dawson (Athletico Mince Podcast). Free, no advanced booking required.
