Join us at Arts Centre Washington this March for a screening of Anna Hints’ otherworldly ode to sisterhood – Smoke Sauna Sisterhood.
Deep in the forests of South-Eastern Estonia, women of the Võro community gather at a cabin in the woods to take part in a centuries-old tradition. In the darkness of the smoke sauna, they bare all – sharing their innermost secrets, experiences and desires.
Captured through intimate images and an atmospheric score, Smoke Sauna Sisterhood is a celebration of female solidarity and the transformative powers of community.

This screening is part of Sunderland Film Club – Wearside’s documentary and independent focused community cinema, hosting monthly screenings, talks and workshops at Arts Centre Washington and Port Independent.
