Event description
For two magical years from 1956 to 1958, skiffle became the music of young people throughout the country. From the star professionals like Lonnie Donegan and Chas McDevitt through to youth club and coffee bar bands ‘having a go’, the craze took hold.
Hop Skiffle and Jump showcase how this simple, acoustic music formed the bedrock of what was to come – the pop explosion of the 60s.
Join us for an evening of skiffle, featuring some of the most popular songs from that period. There are anecdotes and stories aplenty, with top quality musicianship and loads of energy!
